![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Fooddddd post. Lost a lot of weight when I got stomach flu in HK but I gained the 3 kgs I lost during these 2 weeks of pigging out. :/ Everyday is just eating and eating and tons of eating.. & these are only less than half of what I had.
Tried Tim Ho Wan the other day, queued for an hour odd (weekday lunch time), not too bad I would say, (no pics). Tried quite a lot of dishes. Favourite Har-gow (prawn dumplings) was a little off standards (maybe because I just had the nice one at 金龙船 few days before) but the famous char siew bun was really good imo.
Holidays are just eating & sleeping & going out for me.. I'm still quite at a lost on what I should do and this is bad.. What if by the time I decided what I want to do, holidays have already ended?? Geez.. maybe I should get notebooks and get started on the languages first.
Gotta "explain" the second last picture because my dad's like "placement. advertisement". So he placed the wet tissue that way. haha. Nope, no advertising :P
& yep finally I went for a run! (needs to do something regarding the massive food intake lol) Previous one was 2 months back -.- No wonder I feel all the aches already.
That's all! Bye!

Tokyo Day 1 & 2
Finally getting down to my post about Tokyo..It's been almost 3 weeks!! :O
Loving every bit of Tokyo, except the language barrier part. Learnt Japanese before, but forgotten practically everything. The best I can do is probably ask for directions. Ha ha! Good enough I guess *self console*. At least we didn't get lost, but we did walk around in circles a bit. ZYGPS broke down in Tokyo. lol
Anyways, took Cathay Pacific over, but the entertainment system was quite sucky. Not much choices, shows quite outdated, and the service was quite mehh. Different from what I remembered when I last took Cathay in 2010. It wasn't thatt bad, just very mediocre. SIA FTW.
Flew off a day after my last paper, love-hate relationship for that, because I don't get to meet people which I haven't, for a long time due to exams, but yay to holidays!
Here's a mandatory wing-tip photo of the plane haha
This flight is alright, proper entertainment system *phew* and, so damn freaking empty!! Me likey. Sit anywhere like a boss, have all the seats you want. hahaha
The "leftover sunset" we missed hahaha
When we landed in Tokyo, we had to take a train (change train once) to our station. I remembered how, on the very moment I stepped out of the arrival hall, I (or rather, we were) was overwhelmed - language barrier sets in immediately.
It was a pretty chilly night - around 20 degrees with rain.
After we checked in, which was probably around 10pm (GMT +9), we went out for ramen! Anyhow-ly walked into one which prices seem reasonable, and set down for our late dinner/supper. No pictures on that, but I went back on the second last day.
Tried my very first "lava egg" that day, and I had to have one every single day after that!! It is that noms. Slurps :P (p/s. this is the noms not bleah emoticon haha)
So after ramen, we went to the nearby convenience stores for.. shopping hahaha
Look at the amount of stuff we bought.. & we go back there everyday!!!!!!!
Look at the pretty packaging.. They are damn delicious too!! Didn't manage to try all, but I managed to try whatever I wanted to! :D
Arghh Tokyo withdrawal symptoms kicking in right now ><
DAY 2: MEIJI SHRINE//HARAJUKU
Meiji Shrine (明治神宮 Meiji Jingū), is the Shinto shrine that is dedicated to the deified spirits of Emperor Meiji and his wife, Empress Shōken
(credits to Wikipedia)
Correct me if I'm wrong, but a shrine is something equivalent to a temple for Chinese!
Sidetrack: There are 3 types of "writings" in Japanese, namely Kanji (Chinese characters), Hiragana (Japanese characters for Japanese words) and Katakana (Japanese characters for English/Non-Japanese words) .
In the first place, my Chinese is really very no-standard, and some Kanji were like non-Chinese, and those Chinese words do not mean the same as what it meant in Chinese.. Long story cut short, I don't understand Kanji luh hahaha XD
Surprisingly I still recognize some of the Hiragana (probably because my dad makes me MEMORIZE them and he gives me spelling -.-)
Okay sidetrack over.
(Used my camera at Meiji Shrine, and thankfully only there. All the photos are so blurry -.- Laopoksaurus 2, after my computer)
Below this tree is where all the Ema(s) are!
Ema (絵馬 ) are small wooden plaques on which Shinto worshippers write their prayers or wishes. The ema are then left hanging up at the shrine, where the kami (spirits or gods) receive them.
(credits to Wikipedia)
So each of us got one!
We went to Harajuku after that, which is actually just a street away from Meiji Shrine.. Look at the prettyz station!!
OMU RICE OMNOMNOM :D
Super noms. Super big portion. Mentai. Super nice eggs
So basically, Harajuku is kinda like a night market, except that it is in the day & it closes at 8pm. We didn't get anything there even though it is all the Japanese nice brands because it is not our style and prices starts from at least 20 ++ 30 SGD and IMO, nothing fantastic. The nice ones are at least SGD 50.
So we shopped at H&M & F21 loo hahaha. Our style and cheap (comparatively). & not many people in stores. +++
Harajuku itself is very big, practically like the whole stretch of Orchard road till someset area. There's the atas-end, aka all the brands, the designer streets, the swagger streets, & etc
& *inserts 3 not very helpful pictures*
(I took some photos of the streets.. I just haven't exactly sorted them out :| More of that soon, because I went back there again!!)
Lotteria!! Which I didn't try :/
Since everyone's saying that people in Harajuku dresses up really nicely and those people involved in cosplay are there, we made an extra effort to dress up.. Heh XD
I'll probably not dress up in SG like that.. ever.
They have really pretty daisies everywhere in Tokyo!! Daisies are like my top 3 favourite flowers!! Seen so many of them, I might have to revise the ranking of my top 3 LOL
We had don (rice) for dinner, and I also don't know where the photo is zzz
At most stores, there's this vending machine outside of the shop, whereby you insert money, press the item you want, obtain the receipt which you pass to the person-in-charge/cook and they will proceed to prepare your food. Interesting much, and there's tonsssss of vending machine everywhere in Tokyo! It's the extent like, every other step you take, you see a few of them. Vending drinks mostly, but there are cigarettes & others as well.
CREPEEEEEE for desserts!!!!!!! NOMS (Ikr this word is super overused here)
That's pretty much the end of my first 2 days in Tokyo! More to come :)
xoxo

![]() Hello I'm ZY. My friends call me ZINGGGGG, and I assume it's because they pronounced my name too quickly. I eat a lot, sleep a lot, slack a lot. But I still get down to work when I have "feel". That's pretty much about me, read on to know more! |
